Gods Uncertain Music (Deus Ex Machina)
Summary
Things are getting Psychotic. Super RahXephon (as I shall call it) grows wings, and the entire color scheme is muted. Juumonji reveals that Ayato is Kunugi's son (though still a test-tube baby), and that Watari's name used to be Professor Kamina. Elvy lands her destroyed Vermillion and uses her old fighter plane to try and use the TDD System as a weapon, but she misses. Right after she takes off, the Lilya Litvak is hit by a Dolem.
Mamoru's Dolem, Obligato, flies at RahXephon, but RX uses a shield, which smashes Obligato, killing it and Mamoru. Ayato is SO sad by this that he lets loose another gamma wave, which kills Elvy, Souichi, and the Lilya Litvak.
Member's of the Bahbem Foundation hide out in a church, and Makoto finds them and shoots Bahbem (who is actually Helena inside). Tropical girl shoots Makoto and calls him a D, stating that D is for Designer's Children and Dolem. He shoots her back :). Helena says that D also stands for Defective.
Haruka sees an illusion of Ayato and follows him to a forest. Kim tries to shoot it for killing Souichi, which doesn't work. When she's done, she throws the gun at him. Rikudoh spouts on the Legend of RahXephon and Quon says that the RahXephons are gods and time that has taken a physical form. Then she gets naked WTF! before merging with her OWN RahXephon (aw, we never got to see it! ;_;). Ayato wakes up in a weird red plain (Yolteotl).
Analysis
Things to Note
- Gamma waves = high frequency waves that have so much energy that they basically mutate living cells on contact, and are therefore extremely dangerous when not handled properly.
- Dniepr - One of the Alliance's battleships; also a river between Belarus and Ukraine, as well as the name of a Ukranian rocket and a type of motorcycle.
- Scharnhorst - One of the Alliance's battleships; as well as a German battlecruiser around 1940.
- Pernemunde - One of the Alliance's battleships. I don't know the origin of the name.
- The text of the page where the Wizard of Oz is dropped is this: "Do you think Oz could give me courage?" asked the cowardly Lion. "Just as easily as he could give me brains," said the scarecrow. - After the explanation of what D stands for, Itsuki says Helena is such a (blank). Note that Helena is a B. Also note that there is a derogatory word for females that also starts with B. :3
- Anybody got a clue on what "Obsidian Butterfly Find / A Last Song / In Deep Blue Forest" means? This has been bugging me for a long time.
